TOKYO, Japan, March 14, 2011 - Honda would like to express its deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims of The 2011 Off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake in northeastern Japan and our sincere hopes for the earliest possible relief and recovery of the affected areas.
Considering the current situation of the nationwide recovery efforts in Japan, Honda has decided the following:

As of March 14, all production activities are suspended at the following Honda plants: Sayama Plant at Saitama Factory (Sayama, Saitama), Ogawa Plant (Ogawa-machi, Hiki-gun Saitama), Tochigi Factory (Moka, Tochigi), Hamamatsu Factory (Hamamatsu, Shizuoka) and Suzuka Factory (Suzuka, Mie).

From March 15 through 20, Honda will suspend all production activities at its plants listed above as well as at Kumamoto Factory (Ozu-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto).

From March 14 through 20, Honda will suspend regular operations at all Honda facilities in the Tochigi area, where damage was more serious, (including Tochigi Factory, Honda R&D Co., Ltd. R&D Center (Tochigi) , Honda Engineering Co., Ltd., etc.), and focus on the recovery of each operation. Honda associates will not come to work during this time.
With the hope to contribute to the earliest possible relief and recovery of affected areas, Honda will provide the following aid:

300 million yen toward the relief and recovery effort

A total of 1,000 generators (gasoline-powered and home-use gas canister-powered), along with 5,000 gas canisters. Honda also will dispatch its staff to explain how to use the donated generators.
Honda will cooperate to the electricity conservation efforts and the rolling blackout, prioritizing the relief and recovery of affected areas.
Honda decided the following regarding its recruiting activities so that victims of the earthquake can focus on recovery.

Prospective associates, who are scheduled to join the company in April, can choose to delay their first day of work by up to two months if they or their families are affected by the earthquake.

For those who have applied for next year’s recruiting process starting in April of this year (associates who would join the company in April 2012) from the affected areas (six prefectures in Tohoku areas and Ibaraki prefecture), Honda will ensure that the testing/interviewing of those applicants will be conducted in June or later. More details will be posted on the recruiting section of the Honda website in April.

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. wishes to express its sincere condolences for the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunamis that struck Japan's northeastern seaboard, and to extend its deepest sympathy to the bereaved families. Concerning the effect on Yamaha Motor we offer this report on the present situation regarding employee safety, factory and facility damage and immediate corporate operating plans.
The following information is current as of 9:00 a.m. March 14 (Mon.), 2011
1.
Damage in the earthquake area
(1)
Personnel safety
·
Yamaha Motor and group company employees: It has been verified that one sales company employee was injured. All other Yamaha Motor and group company employees are safe and unhurt.

Dealerships and Marina facilities: An emergency response team has been established to confirm the extent of the damage.

Factories, facility conditions
·
Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.: There has been no damage to factories or facilities in the earthquake area. At the Yamaha Motor’s comprehensive Motor Sports facility operated by SUGO Co., Ltd. nearest the earthquake epicenter (Miyagi Pref.) there is no visible damage to the buildings but sections of road on the grounds have caved in.

Dealerships and Marina facilities: An emergency response team has been established and is currently investigating damage and reviewing support needs and possibilities.

Electricity saving measures
Yamaha Motor group companies will cooperate in the electricity rationing (district blackouts) planned in the nationwide electric power network and will take thorough measures to save electricity by restricting industrial electricity use, heating in the office facilities, turning off the company nighttime neon signs, etc. All employees will also be asked to save electricity at work and in their homes as much as possible.
4.
Community support
Decisions concerning provision of appropriate humanitarian and relief aid to the earthquake/tsunami stricken communities will be made following review of needs.

С 8 по 12 февраля команда FORSPEED Honda в полном составе провела тренировочный предсезонный выезд на Circuito Cartagena, что на юге Испании. С декабрьских тренировок на треке в Альмерии прошло много времени, чтобы Саша с Женей успели соскучиться по треку.

С 26 по 30 декабря ушедшего года мы отлично там потренировались.
Межсезонье – жаркая пора для мотогоночных команд. Подведение итогов прошедшего сезона, продление отношений с текущими партнерами, поиск новых спонсоров, участие в специализированных тематических выставках – все это необходимо уместить в плотный тренировочный график повышения спортивного мастерства. Сезон 2009 завершился совсем недавно, в октябре, но команда FORSPEED Honda уже открыла сезон 2010 выездом с 26 по 29 декабря на трек в Альмерию, как всегда качественно организованным немецким трековым агентством Bike Promotion (www.bike-promotion.de). Еще недавно здесь проходили тесты мото 2, команд мирового супербайка, а теперь здесь вновь побывали и мы. Это наш первый полностью независимый самостоятельный вояж на юг Испании.
